Royalties

Chem21Labs works with institutions to manage and distribute royalties. If a school provides its own lab manual and uses Chem21Labs to deliver it (as a lab webpage or PDF), a royalty can be collected to support ongoing updates and maintenance.

About half of institutions choose not to include a royalty. For those that do, it typically ranges from $5–$10 per student per semester and is distributed as directed by the institution once the term is about two-thirds complete.

Some universities use these funds to support student opportunities, such as travel to present research at ACS regional and national meetings.
