Preparing and reading a buret are two essential skills in a chemistry lab. The interactive animations below are used as pre-lab assignments to provide practice to students prior to lab. Preparing a Buret
To prepare a buret for use, air bubble are removed from the buret tip and the initial volume reading is positioned between 0.00mL and 5.00mL. Follow the directions in the tutorial to accomplish these two tasks. Then, add a prescribed amount of titrant by rotating the stopcock. Add titrant quickly when the stopcock is vertical . . . . add titrant dropwise by clicking the stopcock. If the added volume is correct, the displayed message reads . . . .
